Solo piano music is guaranteed to add an elegant air of sophistication to any event, be it a wedding, baptism, party, dinner or other corporate event. As an experienced lounge pianist, Ashley has a hugely varied repertoire from the great classics of the past through to modern hits of the day via the Great American Songbook - there is guaranteed to be something to suit everyone's taste! 

For venues where no piano is available, Ashley will provide all necessary equipment at no extra cost which also allows the option of playing outdoors (weather permitting). All equipment is PAT tested and Ashley holds PLI, evidence of which can be produced upon request.

For church and crematorium services, Ashley also has over sixteen years experience of organ playing. 

As well as a soloist, Ashley is able to collaborate with Rhianwen Pugh as the Telano Duo or with a close-harmony female trio.

Weddings / Civil Partnerships

Three quarters of marriages in the UK now take place in civil ceremonies rather than church weddings. The inclusion of live acoustic music will undoubtedly provide an altogether more elegant and sophisticated vibe to your special day as opposed to streaming. A typical wedding will consist of three elements:-

1. The Ceremony 

Ashley is able to work in close collaboration to tailor the music to be played to suit your personal taste - you'll be able to choose your favourite songs to be played as your guests await the arrival of the bride / civil partner (typically 3-6 songs), the arrival of the bride / civil partner and the departure of the happy couple (1 song each way) together with 1 or 2 pieces during the signing of the register.

Please note that religious music is not allowed during a civil ceremony.

2. Drinks / Canapé Reception

Between your ceremony and wedding breakfast, your guests will usually congregate with a drinks reception whilst official photographs are taken. Live music during this period is extremely popular and helps set a relaxed atmosphere as your guests mingle in the period leading up to the more formal wedding breakfast. In this informal setting, Ashley usually plays for up to 90 minutes and is happy to take requests.

3. Wedding Breakfast

Romantic background piano music during the wedding breakfast will always provide an elegant ambiance for you and your guests to enjoy. Music will begin as your guests take their seats through to the cutting of the cake and  beginning of speeches, usually between 90 - 120 minutes. 

A wide variety of different songs is played to suit different tastes and age ranges present. Most genres work well in this environment, from Pop, Film Music, Show Tunes, Classical and Jazz. Some venues offer the facility of a grand piano in the room where the Wedding Breakfast will take place though Ashley usually uses his own stage piano. Being state of the art, it sounds every bit as good as a grand piano and allows the piano to be positioned exactly where required. In addition, it can be volume controlled to reflect the the number of guests and size of room.

Corporate / Exhibition

Ashley has played for numerous corporate events including Worcestershire County Council and Lyle & Scott at the Liver Building. He will provide an excellent musical accompaniment to a business lunch/dinner or drink reception with colleagues and clients, as well as more formal functions and events.

If you’re looking to add a special edge to your hotel, restaurant or bar, live piano is a popular attraction to gain regular customers. Ashley has played at venues throughout the UK and will choose music and style appropriate to your venue. No piano? No worries! Ashley is able to supply his own stage piano at no extra cost.

Special dates such as Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are always times of high demand so please book early.
